# Enable the Leaderboard

###### Leaderboard display type

This determines how each player's name appears on the leaderboard: full name, abbreviated name, username, unique identifier, anonymous or a custom format. Names come from your data collection form. You can also provide a remote JSON file that sets how player names are displayed.

||| The leaderboard is always built from the scores of people who played the game. The JSON file only changes how names are displayed. It can't import scores, add players or bring in data from outside Drimify.

###### Maximum number of entries to show in the leaderboard

This determines how many entries and lines in the table are to be displayed between 5 and 100.

###### Score aggregation (not applicable to the Combo™ or Dynamic Path™)

In the event that a participant plays several times, you may choose the score aggregation method based on the unique identifier, email address, user name, or phone number (or opt not to aggregate the scores).

||| Please note, your chosen method must be available as a field within your data collection form.

###### Show only highest score per player

When **Do not aggregate the scores** is selected, an additional dropdown becomes available: **Show only highest score per player**. This lets you ensure each player appears only once on the leaderboard, ranked by their best score, without fully aggregating all their plays into a single entry.

Available options:
* **Do not group (show every play)** — Default. All plays are listed individually, a player may appear multiple times.
* **Show only highest score per email address**
* **Show only highest score per phone number**
* **Show only highest score per unique identifier**
* **Show only highest score per username**
* **Show only highest score per custom format**
* **Show only highest score per session UID**

||| The selected identifier must be available for each player — either collected via your data collection form or passed via query string. Players with no value for the selected identifier will be automatically excluded from the leaderboard ranking.

###### Leaderboard timeframe

The **Leaderboard Timeframe** setting allows you to define the period of time for which player scores and results are displayed. By selecting a specific timeframe, you can highlight performance based on daily, weekly, monthly, or fully customised periods.

###### Available options:

* **All Time** – Displays all results since the leaderboard was first activated.
* **Current Day** – Shows scores only from today.
* **Previous Day** – Shows scores from yesterday.
* **Current Week** – Displays results from the ongoing calendar week.
* **Previous Week** – Displays results from the last calendar week.
* **Current Month** – Displays results from the ongoing calendar month.
* **Previous Month** – Displays results from the last calendar month.
* **Current Quarter** – Displays results from the ongoing calendar quarter.
* **Previous Quarter** – Displays results from the last calendar quarter.
* **Current Year** – Displays results from the ongoing calendar year.
* **Previous Year** – Displays results from the last calendar year.
* **Custom Dates** – Lets you manually select a start and end date to define the leaderboard timeframe.
* **Relative Period** – Allows you to set a rolling period (for example, the last 7 days, last 30 days, etc.), independent of fixed calendar dates.

# Filter the Leaderboard by Date (Query String Parameters)

It is possible to display the leaderboard for a specific date range by adding query string parameters to your game URL.
## Available Parameters

You can use the following parameters:
* `leaderboardStart`
* `leaderboardEnd`

These allow you to define a custom start and end date for the leaderboard results displayed.

## Example

```
https://yourgameurl.com?leaderboardStart=2024-01-01&leaderboardEnd=2024-01-31
```

In this example, the leaderboard will only display results between **January 1, 2024** and **January 31, 2024**.

## Important Notes

* Dates must be formatted as: `YYYY-MM-DD`
* Both parameters can be used together to define a specific period
* If no parameters are provided, the default leaderboard configuration will apply
* These parameters must be added to the end of your game URL

###### Additional options

Additionally, you can enable or disable options to:

* Display the time
* The number of entries
* Deactivation date – this will make the leaderboard accessible independently of the application's activation dates.
* A button below the leaderboard to return to the start of the app

There is also a leaderboard deactivation date field, which will take priority over the application end date, if for example, you wanted to display the leaderboard for longer via its own direct link (which can be found in the **Publish** creation step).
