# Limit by Custom Format

The custom format is an optional field which you can define in your [data collection form](/en/article/data-collection-form-customisation-1w6n40l/), and refers to a number or code that must adhere to your defined pattern. 

Here you can determine the **Title** and **Description** displayed for users who fail to enter data that matches your custom format, and the limits of participation for users who do enter valid data.

You can limit them to:

* A specific number of  plays
* Reset that limitation of plays every X number of hours
* Reset that limitation of plays every day at a specific time
