Moving an App to Another Workspace

Moving an App to Another Workspace

The Move app feature lets you transfer an app to a different workspace or to a different folder within the same workspace. The app's public URL is never affected by a move.

How to Move an App

  1. From your dashboard, open the app options menu (the ··· button on the app card).
  2. Select Move app to another workspace.
  3. In the modal, select the Destination workspace from the dropdown. The list is split into:
    • Your workspaces — workspaces you own
    • Shared with you — workspaces you have access to
  4. Once a workspace is selected, a Destination folder dropdown appears. By default the app lands at Workspace root (no folder). Select a folder if needed.
  5. Review the preview — it shows exactly what will be moved along with any warnings.
  6. Tick "I understand that X items will be moved" to confirm.
  7. Click Move to proceed, or Cancel to abort.

What Happens During a Move

Moving within the same workspace (different folder)

The app is simply relocated to the selected folder. No media, data, or settings are affected — this is a folder-only move.

Moving to a different workspace

  • The app and all its settings are transferred to the destination workspace.
  • The public URL remains unchanged.
  • Library media files used by the app are cloned to the destination workspace. The originals stay in the source workspace.

When moving a container game, all child apps within it are moved automatically. The preview lists every app that will be moved and shows a notice indicating how many child apps are included.

Required Permissions

To move an app to a different workspace, you must have app creator rights in that destination workspace. Workspaces where you don't have the necessary rights will not appear in the dropdown.

Warnings and Blocking Conditions

🟡 Destination workspace has no active plan
Any published apps being moved will be set to draft and taken offline. You are warned before confirming.

🟣 Media files will be cloned
When moving to a different workspace, library media files used by the app are duplicated into the destination. The preview shows the number of files that will be cloned.

🔴 Move blocked — app is used in another game
If any app in the move is already used inside a container game (Dynamic Path™, Combo™, or Contest Gallery), the move is blocked. The preview lists each conflict. To resolve it: either move the parent container game instead, or remove the conflicting app from it first.
