# Retired Game Types

From time to time, Drimify retires an older game type, usually because a newer version (often a 3D upgrade) now offers the same experience. Retiring a game type doesn't remove or break anything you've already built with it. This article explains exactly what does and doesn't change.

# Your existing games keep running

If you already have a game built on a retired type, nothing changes for your players:

* The game stays live and playable exactly as before, following its own plan and schedule.
* Scores, leads, and all other data keep recording normally.
* You can keep editing it - settings, branding, content, everything.

What stops is *support*: we no longer maintain or update that game type going forward.

# Why you can't duplicate it anymore

Once a game type is retired:

* You can no longer **duplicate** an existing game built on it (see [Experience Duplication](/en/article/experience-duplication-j11pyh/) for how duplication normally works).
* It's removed from the **catalogue**, so you can't create a brand new game with that type either.

|| This restriction starts as soon as the retirement is announced — not only once the game type reaches its end-of-life date. If you need a new game with a similar experience, check the catalogue for its newer version.

# The badge on your dashboard

Any game built on a retired type shows a small badge next to its name in your dashboard:

* **Support ending** (orange) — the type is retired but hasn't reached its end-of-life date yet. Hover the badge to see the exact date.
* **Unsupported** (grey) — the end-of-life date has passed.

| This badge is only shown to workspace members who can edit or create apps. View-only members won't see it.

# The banner in the game editor

Opening a game built on a retired type also shows a banner at the top of the editor, with the same information: how long the type is still supported for (or that support has already ended), and a reminder that the game keeps running either way.

# FAQ

**Will my game stop working when the game type is retired?**
No. It keeps running and stays fully editable — only duplication and new creation are blocked.

**Can I still edit a game built on a retired type?**
Yes, editing is untouched by retirement.

**How do I know which date my game type retires on?**
Hover the badge on your dashboard, or open the game; the date is shown in the banner at the top of the editor.
